We have engaged in a four year conversation with a wide cross- section of New Zealanders, including young people, business and others whose voices are not often heard in the education policy debate. We have exposed our methods, our database and our analysis to external testing and evaluation at every point. And we are confident that a mandate for change is emerging across New Zealand.
The project was set up in 2004 and is guided by four Guardians:
- Ian Taylor of Taylor-Made Media and Animation Research;
- Bernice Mene teacher and former captain of the Silver Ferns;
- Mason Durie, former psychiatrist and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Massey University;
- Gillian Heald, former principal.
